Intermusica is proud to announce exclusive European representation of America's leading vocal ensemble Chanticleer, named after the “clear-singing” rooster in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Described as “an orchestra of voices”, this multi-award winning vocal ensemble of twelve male voices, ranging from countertenor to bass, perform repertoire ranging from Renaissance music to jazz, from gospel to specially commissioned new music. Performing over 100 concerts a year, Chanticleer has developed a remarkable reputation over its 22-year history for its interpretation of vocal literature and since 1994 has been recording exclusively for Teldec. The ensemble has 22 recordings to its credit - one of them, Colors of Love, won a Grammy Award, and their latest, Magnificat, reached No 4 in the U.S. Billboard charts. Chanticleer will next tour Europe in April 2002.
