Just released on the Orfeo label is Claus Peter Flor’s recording of Bruch’s long-forgotten and rarely performed mammoth oratorio, Moses, recorded last Summer in Bamberg with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Greeted with tremendous acclaim at the concert performances in July, Flor conducts the work again with the Deutsche Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin on May 15/16 and then again in November with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.

A busy Summer for Flor includes his debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival where the programme includes Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony, and concerts in the Minnesota Orchestra’s summer festival. An impressive debut with the Houston Symphony in the Spring was immediately followed by his first week in Dallas since the announcement of his Principal Guest Conductorship there from next season. He also returns to the San Francisco Symphony in April.
