Andreas Haefliger’s latest European recital tour included concerts in the Berlin Philharmonic’s Sunday afternoon piano series and the Vienna Konzerthaus. His programme of Schumann and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition drew rapturous praise from the press: “His playing is supple, never sentimental, always elegant and warm in tone.” Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung “Haefliger showed another side, that of athletic extrovert; he played with an immediacy which encouraged the audience to feel directly involved in the process of creation.” Wiener Zeitung Next season’s recitals include the Athens Megaron, Lisbon Gulbenkian and London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. This season, Haefliger’s European orchestral engagements have included the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchester, Bamberg Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg, Danish Radio, the SWR Sinfonieorchester and the London Philharmonic.
